[dcu art] Draw Steph Meme
Title: Some animal sips where the river flows
Fandom: DCU (ROBIN)
Notes: For [info]dryponder's Draw Stephanie Brown meme. Also attempt #1 at creating a decent facsimile of a drybrush by fiddling with PS7's brush settings. Came out slightly Chaykinish, I think.

Ooooh, creepy and dynamic! Somewhere below, someone is about to be in a *world* of hurt. Lovely!

\o/ It's a wonderful feeling when one's intended audience response matches up perfectly with the responses one then receives. :D

Steph's learning a few too many tricks from someone. :D Cool colouring effects, though--the yellow, the purple edgings, the crackly look over everything. And her creepy half-lit face!

Yay! I'm glad you like.

I wanted to spot-color it in an interesting way, and knew I wanted her hair colored in. Then I decided to add the eggplant. Because I knew no Steph image would be complete without the eggplant.

And that someone is going 'hm' very loudly, believe me!

If he's not being sullen over how she's clearly too good for him, like during War Drums! That is, I hope he is.

I enjoyed the hair--but even more than that, her Tim-like cape, her belt, and her garter-pockets. Her hair's her most obvious physical trait, but I just really like the details. Eggplant, :).

Robin feels this reaction is appropriately worshipful. You may live.

You seriously win for bring Steph colors + art color theory together, man. Complementary colors? RAWK. And that gargoyle looks awesome.

Although I have to admit I can't quite figure out that leg. (That's a leg, right? Is it a leg?)

Complementary colors? RAWK.

Would you believe I did that by happy accident? XD

That's a leg, right?

Yas, that's a leg. I was trying for a bit of Damion Scott-influence, there, although it's really another attempt of mine to add some sense of cartoony unrealism to my style. Sometimes this works, sometimes . . . it doesn't. I'm torn on whether it works here or not.
